Meagan Day is a writer and editor focusing on labor issues, economic inequality, and US politics.
She is an Associate Editor at Jacobin, the Editor of the Global Labour Column, and a Consulting Editor at the Economic Hardship Reporting Project.
Day is the author of the creative nonfiction book Maximum Sunlight (Wolfman Books, December 2016), an excerpt of which was selected for inclusion in the Best American series, and the co-author with Micah Uetricht of the book Bigger than Bernie (Verso, April 2020), about the impact of the Bernie Sanders presidential campaigns.
Day’s articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The New Republic, Vox, n+1, and elsewhere. The bulk of her writing has appeared in Jacobin, where she was a staff writer before becoming an editor. She has also produced and hosted videos for More Perfect Union.
Day has spoken in Berlin, Oxford, and Montreal about the state of US politics and society. In 2022 she addressed the Oxford Union on the topic of the "American Dream" in a global context. She has been interviewed by the Washington Post, the Columbia Journalism Review, and the Harvard Political Review. Her articles have been translated into Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Norwegian, and other languages.
